Public Notice: Town of Cobourg Releases 2022 Budget Schedule

(Issued October 15, 2021 at 10 a.m. EST) – The Town of Cobourg would like to inform residents that the 2022 Municipal Operating and Capital Budget meetings have been scheduled. All meetings will be conducted using the new hybrid Council Meeting format beginning in November 2021.

The Draft 2022 Municipal Operating and Capital Budget will be released on the Municipal website at www.cobourg.ca/budget and on Engage Cobourg for public review and comment.

Residents are encouraged to provide input on the budget by submitting a delegation to Council for the Public Submissions meeting on Monday, November 8, 2021. Delegation requests can be made online by visiting the Town of Cobourg’s eSCRIBE platform: www.cobourg.ca/escribe, clicking on the meeting date and hitting ‘Delegation request’.

Public Submissions Meeting	Members of the public are given the opportunity to submit comment on the 2022 budget.	November 8	5 p.m.
Community Grants Presentations	Community organizations have the opportunity to make presentations to Council on their applications.	November 8	5 p.m.
Divisional Budget Meetings	Directors and senior staff will update Council on potential capital projects, special one-time projects & anticipated requests for staffing level changes.
Divisional Budget Meeting #1	General Government Services Economic Development Venture13 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre Public Library Art Gallery of Northumberland Public Works Environmental Services	November 9	1 p.m.
Divisional Budget Meeting #2	Protection Services Planning and Development Services Police Services Fire Department Community Services	November 10	1 p.m.
Special Council Budget Session #1	The draft budget is reviewed in its entirety by Council.	November 25	10 a.m.
Special Council Budget Session #2	The draft budget is reviewed in its entirety by Council.	November 26	10 a.m.
Final Budget Approval	The Draft 2022 Municipal Operating & Capital Budget is submitted for final approval by Council.	December 13	6 p.m.
